Clinical Supervision for Associate Social Workers (ASW), Associate Marriage Family Therapists (AMFT), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCC)
The time as an associate is a rare opportunity to hone skills, enhance clinical intuition, and develop the insights that will support clients to their greatest change, all with the support and guidance of a trained supervisor. Just as the relationship between therapist and client is the critical component to meaningful work, so too is the supervision relationship. Rooted in the Person of The Therapist model, Integrative Developmental Model of Supervision and Direct Practice principles, my goal is to help early clinicians connect with their intuition and countertransference and transform these into powerful and useful tools of the therapeutic process.
I am trained in several evidenced-based models for individuals, couples, and families including CBT, DBT, ACT as well as evidenced attachment-oriented models including Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples and Attachment Based Family Therapy. The experience of working in school-based programs, outpatient therapy clinics, crisis centers, residential treatment centers, and private practice has enhanced my ability to support developing clinicians apply their skills over a range of situations. I utilize the Integrative Development Model of Supervision which offers a framework for exploring the experience as the therapist, the client’s experience of the therapist, and the skills to integrate them both. I have completed all requirements for the California BBS to supervise master level clinicians and am available to contract for individual, triadic, and group supervision remotely throughout California and Colorado or onsite in North San Diego Counties. Please contact me for more information on supporting the development of the associate clinicians on your team.
